Freespace Pop-Up Community Center
Freespace is a pop-up community center focused on hacking the civic experience. It is hosted in a 14,000 sqft warehouse in S0Ma, San Francisco, envisioned and implemented entirely by you.
Freespace was originally just a one month project, but it was extended to two months thanks to successful Indiegogo campaign. They’re now open periodically (check their schedule). They host a wide array of events and projects like classes, music, art, silent discos, yoga, a free bikeshare, community engagement and field trips, and more than a few silly costumes.
Join a free mini music festival at Freespace from noon to 10pm comprised of local bands, producers and DJs hosted by POPGANG Records.
There will be visual art by Noah Freeman aka OCUVOX, an open chatroom that anyone can log onto projected in real time on the wall.
Can’t make it? There will be a live video feed of the event online.

POPGANG is an artist collective and record label that provides all its music for free downloads in addition to traditional digital distribution. Selling on beatport/itunes/spotify is key to artist legitimacy, however providing free music to those who want it helps spread the music. Their artist roster ranges from punk bands to techno producers to hip hop.
