National Parks Weekend | Free Entrance to Over 100 National Parks

National Parks Weekend | Free Entrance to Over 100 National ParksIn the immortal words of John Muir: “You may close California’s parks, but you’ll never have our national parks. Hell, we’ll even make them free.

Okay so the conservationist didn’t say that but there are Free Entrance Days in the National Parks, special fee-free days that you should take advantage of to visit parks that usually cost entrance fees.

Here are the observed days in 2012:

  • January 14-16 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday weekend
  • April 21-29 for National Park Week
  • June 9 for Get Outdoors Day
  • September 29 for Public Lands Day
  • November 10-12 for Veterans Day weekend

Making the fun even more affordable, many national park concessioners are joining the National Park Service in welcoming visitors with their own special offers. Check back on this site to find those.
