Johan Miranda | CANCELED: “Nightlife on Mars” Comedy Night | SF

Guests for our 3/27 show includes:

Johan Miranda – Johan Miranda is a Peruvian American comedian that has established himself in the Bay Area comedy scene. San Francisco Magazine exemplified him as a comedian you should know you about He performs at all the major comedy clubs in Northern California, including San Francisco Punchline, Sacramento Punchline, Cobbs Comedy Club, Rooster T Feathers, & San Jose Improv, and has been featured in SF Sketchfest & Santa Cruz Fringe Festival. He currently produces & hosts the popular bimonthly Laugh Function, Berkeley’s longest running comedy showcase. He recently recorded a mini comedy DVD taping entitled “Ready to Bomb”, which award winning Bay Area comedy blog Courting Comedy called “a capsule of undeniable promise”

Stephen Furey – Stephen Furey is a Sacramento, Ca based comc. Some people seem to enjoy his stand up.Considered by most to be relatively clean, he enjoys straddling the line between wholesome and filthy while attempting to portray his views on the mundane. He co hosts the Belligerently Uninformed Podcast, recorded weekly at The Sacramento Comedy Spot. He co produces two shows as well, under the titles C.W.A & Belligerently Uninformed Presents. He also wrote all this from his phone.

Phil Johnson – Phil Johnson, who has appeared at the Sundance Film Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, uses comedy and music to dissect that dilemma in both his own life and others. Phil Johnson, like everyone else, sometimes gets it and sometimes wonders what the heck people are thinking. On stage his playful humor and likeable, endearing manner allow him to shake things up without antagonizing the audience. In the end we can only be who we are, try to understand others, and hope they understand us.

Pete Munoz – The San Jose born and raised Pete Munoz is a very hard working, fun to watch South Bay comic. Hitting mics 7 nights a week Pete brings a talented show to the San Jose Improv. His witty riffing and improv style will keep you on the edge of your seat as Pete is a young comic willing to do what he has to get the laugh you want.

Joe Bates – Joe Bates is one of the few working stand-up comics in the country with a professional engineering license. Coming from Texas, his unique quick-witted view of life comes not only from trying to fit into a professional workplace but his own everyday life juggling relationships between women, television, and family. The odd situations he constantly gets himself into resolve themselves into usually a hilarious and embarassing conclusions. He hosts a podcast Rank You Very Much as well as runs the website The Future of Comedy a compiliation of articles from an assortment of writers throughout the nation. He was also in “Inside Out” a gold Remi winner at the Houston International Film Festival.

Jason Armenio – Jason is everyone’s favorite Black, Filipino, & Italian comedian (sadly, there really wasn’t much of a choice). It should come as no surprise, then, that his childhood dream was to open the west coast’s first unionized barber shop/lumpia market. This Soultino funny guy enjoys sharing laughs with audiences, basketball, and soft core porn with unexpected plot twists. A father of two, Jason’s family life serves as ammunition for many of his live sets. If you don’t laugh while watching Jason perform, he promises to wear different clothes the next time you see him.

Plus Molly Sokhom and more
