July 10, 2014 Lineup:

Special guest host: Joe Nguyen. Subtle but sharp, laid-back yet engaging, Joe Nguyen is the smart slacker beloved by audiences for his easygoing delivery and well-written jokes. Raised in the state of Georgia by immigrants of Vietnamese and Jewish descent, Joe was destined to become a stand-up comedian. His unique perspective and likeable stage presence have made him a favorite at clubs, colleges, niche shows and private events throughout the country. Joe is a regular at the Punch Line in San Francisco and Sacramento, Cobb’s Comedy Club in SF and Rooster T. Feathers in Sunnyvale. He won the 2009 Russian River Comedy Competition and has been featured on KOFY TV in the Bay Area. Joe tours nationally with the Mahatma Moses Comedy Tour and was featured in the Kung Pao Kosher Comedy show.

Brendon Green – Brendon is a New Zealand born stand-up comedian who tells self-deprecating personal stories, infused with clever wordplay, sly social observations, and an emotional honesty that sometimes worries his mother. Having won the Best Newcomer Award at the 2012 NZ International Comedy Festival for his debut hour show Everything Is Meaningless And Nothing Matters, LOL, he was then nominated for the prestigious Billy T Award in the 2014 Festival for his show Some More Mr Nice Guy. He is currently in North America, utilizing his accent, before performing a solo show and FanFiction at the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Josef Anolin – Josef Anolin likes to tell jokes that offer audiences fresh perspectives on “hot button” issues like race, class, gender that are simultaneously respectful and tongue in cheek offensive. Josef has been peddling his humor to audiences throughout the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Oregon, Nevada, Hawaii and may have been the first comedian to do a joke about NY Knicks Point Guard, Jeremy Lin (albeit back in 2010 when he was still a Golden State Warrior and irrelevant).

Liz Stone – Liz Stone is a corporate attorney who spent one too many weekends in the office and nearly hung herself on a rope fashioned from financial documents. Fortunately Liz discovered stand up comedy as a balance to the corporate grind and has been entertaining audiences with her unique perspective ever since. She performs all over the Bay Area, including the San Francisco Punchline, Cobbs Comedy Club, and Rooster T Feathers, and was voted one of “America’s Funniest Lawyers.”

Brandon Garner – Having adopted the friendly neighborhood known as Oakland as his home location, Brandon Garner is a Bay Area comedian who has been lauded by critics with reviews such as “he’s almost tall” and “definitely not short.” He has performed at clubs all along the west coast including Cobbs Comedy Club, Rooster T Feathers, the San Francisco Punchline, and the Redwood Comedy Festival. When not talking about his hapless life on stage, Brandon is busy convincing his friends that musicals are worth watching. He hasn’t made much progress.

Plus Rachael Shapiro and more
