Noise Pop 2013: Music, Art & Film Festival | SF

The Noise Pop Festival is San Francisco’s favorite indie music, art and film festival; the 2013 festival will take place between February 26 – March 3, 2013.

Now in its 21st year, Noise Pop has brought early exposure to many emerging artists in the Bay Area and beyond, many of whom have gone on to widespread acclaim.

No one expected Kim Gordon to let the amps cool too long after Sonic Youth announced an indefinite hiatus in 2011, but few could have imagined the cacophony of experimental noise found on Body/Head’s debut LP—the project of Gordon and noise aficionado Bill Nace.

Burmese is a band that is really into darkness, and not in an ironic or typical death metal way. Shoegazey band Horsebladder and noise producer Noel Von Harmonson share the bill.
