Noise Pop 2013: Music, Art & Film Festival | SF
The Noise Pop Festival is San Francisco’s favorite indie music, art and film festival; the 2013 festival will take place between February 26 – March 3, 2013.
Now in its 21st year, Noise Pop has brought early exposure to many emerging artists in the Bay Area and beyond, many of whom have gone on to widespread acclaim.
Rock out a free Noise Pop happy hour concert with Little Queenie, Buttons, and The Spyrals.
Little Queenie
Oakland based Little Queenie got their name from a Chuck Berry song. Not surprisingly, they don’t sound too much like Chuck Berry. But calling Little Queenie the closest living relative of Crushed Butler wouldn’t be too far off the mark. Little Queenie is Mean Gene Bae, Mark ‘icki’ Murrmann, OSCR, and Tony B (Joe Haner).Buttons
Based on their music video of “Our Sidewalk Ends,” this Oakland based indie rock band doesn’t appear to take themselves too seriously. But often it’s the ones who don’t seem serious that make the best music. Their sound is a blend of Talking Heads, The Fall and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and we look forward to finding out more about these guys. The Spyrals
The Spyrals take us across the bridge from psychedelic to current San Francisco rock — and that’s a bridge we love to cross here at Noise Pop. The San Francisco group who claims to be heavily influenced by The Rolling Stones and The Velvet Underground consists of Jeff Lewis (vocals), Matt Gabriel (guitar), Brandon Wurtz (bass), and Elliott Kiger (drums).Photo credit: shboom
