The 13th Annual Comcast America’s Children’s Holiday Parade promises children’s stars, new floats, giant balloons, marching bands and more. The event is held Rain or Shine
There’s 25+ marching bands, five gold medal winners from the London Olympics, up to 40 costumed children’s characters.
Normally there’s gigantic balloons up to 50 feet tall, but for for 2012 there’s actually a helium shortage so the balloons will be scaled back a bit. Expect to see a handful of float balloons about 20-feet in size like Bugs Bunny and Santa.
More than 100,000 spectators are expected to view the parade live along Broadway and 11th Street to 20th Street to Harrison Avenue in downtown Oakland.
