Opera on Tap: Non-stuffy Opera Sung Live in a Bar | SF

Opera on Tap: The Marriage of Figaro Acts 3 & 4 | SFOpera on Tap is a non-profit organization whose mission is to break down the stereo-type that opera is a stuffy or an elitist art form, by bringing it to bars.

Local singers let their hair down and bring you into what feels like an after hours back stage party, singing some of opera’s best known and little known pieces in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

They have a monthly residency at Trendyloin neighborhood bar, Cafe Royale, and partner with local chamber music groups to create evenings filled with laughter, warmth and most importantly, great music.

"The Marriage of Figaro" Acts 3 & 4 | Opera on Tap: Non-stuffy Opera Sung Live in a Bar | SF

See Acts 3 and 4 of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro: A Comic Opera presented by Opera on Tap: San Francisco, a two year old company whose mission is to put opera back into popular culture by presenting accessible, inexpensive and innovative performances.

This reimagined production is the most ambitious project to date from Opera on Tap, and for this show, the troupe partners with the Bay Area’s graphic novelists to literally put the comics into comic opera.

Opera on Tap will preview each act at Cafe Royale before the full production is presented at California Conservatory Theater.
