On Sunday, August 28th Original Famous Twang Sundays welcomes Beau Wiley, Angelica Rockne, The Ugly to Thee Parkside. The Ugly are a brand new group of honkeys from Oakland, CA bringing you some of that hippie twinged country akin to Graham Parsons & New Riders of The Purple Sage. Don’t take their bell bottoms lightly, they have finger stingin licks that can hang with the best of ’em.

Angelica Rockne’s warm, evocative voice is constantly teetering on the border of beauty and grit; of classic country and desert rock. Elements of her music are reminiscent of sounds that were echoing out of Laurel Canyon in the late 60’s and early 70’s. You could think of her as Stevie Nicks backed by Crazy Horse or Mazzy Star gone country. Whatever the comparison, there is an undeniable authenticity and rawness that can be heard in songs like “When I See You” and “Joshua” from her most recent self-released 7”. With her debut full-length album underway to be released in the winter of 2016, Angelica can be found making frequent runs up and down the west coast from her hometown of Nevada City, California.

Beau Wiley is no stranger to Thee Parkside’s stage having played both with his band Midnight Sons and his solo project. Falling in line with The Ugly Beau treads that smoke tinged line of outlaw country and does so with a strong hand and a cold beer.
