Original Famous Twang Sundays is a free, all-ages concert series at Thee Parkside in Potrero Hill.

Come by every Sunday; there’s always a fresh traditional or contemporary live act and a surprise special to purchase from the kitchen.

On Sunday, November 2nd, Original Famous Twang Sundays welcomes Them Travelin’ Birds and Pacific Grass & Electric to Thee Parkside.

Them Travelin’ Birds is a rambling acoustic folk duo from Oakland, California who have been on the road for the past 8 months, traveling from town to town sharing their music all across the continental US. Their rich vocal harmonies weave through pure and straight-forward original tales of travel, loss and beauty alongside a catalog of traditional folk tunes picked up from various regions during their travels.

Pacific Grass & Electric is a new band hailing from East Oakland. They play bluegrass and old time music because they love it, but can’t quite bring themselves to play by all the rules. What you get is old-time tunes re-envisioned for these new and crazy days, coupled with newer tunes repackaged as string-band material. They are the embodiment of the new wave of family porch bands and their music is sure to have you out of your seat and moving your feet. They will sweep you away to another time when things were simpler, the nights were longer, and the barn dances went ‘til dawn.
