The New Parkway is finally re-opening in Oakland!
It’s a DIY movie theater that’s been built out of a warehouse with two screens, $6 movie tickets, strange films and tons of interesting seating like mid-century modern couches and coffee tables, sofas, office chairs, even old-school beauty salon chairs.
Although the adult and hipster-friendly screenings start the following week, on December 8, 2012 they’re hosting their first “soft opening” a free sing-along and midday dance celebration for families called “Kinderfolkz.”
