BikeShare EastBay has partnered with the Jack London Square Farmers’ Market to bring you the latest edition of BikeShare, a quarterly gathering where cyclists share ideas, skills, and stories in 10-minute presentations.
The theme for August 12, 2012, is EAT! and will feature 5 or 6 presentations ranging from how to make a DIY electrolyte recovery drink to stories of bike camping with a recycled tin can stove. Presentations begin at 11am on the patio above the farmers’ market.

A bike mechanic from Bay Area Bikes will be on hand to do bike safety checks and recommend any adjustments. Need something fixed? Bay Area Bikes just opened a service shop alongside their bike rental store here in Jack London Square!Pedal Powered Ice Cream | 11 am – 1 pm
Check out Spokeland Bike Co-Op’s bike-powered ice-cream maker, sample a scoop, and learn about the non-profit’s bike education space in North Oakland. It’s unclear whether the ice cream will be for free.Cargo Bike Test-Rides | 10 am – 2 pm
Bay Area Bikes is lending their Yuba Cargo Bike to any cyclist who needs a bigger, sturdier ride to take their groceries home. Leave your bike or a credit card, and take the Yuba for a spin, free of charge! It will also be available for test rides at the market.Free Bike Shepherd Registration | 10 am – 2 pm
