CANCELLED: “Sandbox”: Live Games Open Mic | SF

> EVENT UPDATE: This event is no longer taking place.

Sandbox is a monthly open mic, held every second Thursday, for playtesting live games and participatory experiences. Work presented is generally embodied play–unlike video games or board games, the experiences at Sandbox generally involve players moving around and exploring space and interacting with other players.

Each month, seasoned and amateur designers alike are welcome to share games with a playful audience; players of all sorts are invited to play, learn, critique, and get acquainted with the art of experience design.

Bring a game to share or enjoy playing others’ experiences.

The night starts with one or two quick warm-up games played together as a group. Afterward, the games for the night are introduced and you’ll break into groups to play your choice of games.

If you have a work-in-progress and want to try it out, even if it has nothing to do with the theme, you’re welcome to run it at Sandbox and gather feedback.

Join the Facebook group to receive updates about Sandbox events.

This month, Alexander and Min will be hosting games designed to glue players in collaboration, in cahoots, in concert, to cofunction, to build, to hook up, to join forces, and to win together.

Please note, the date has been moved to February 12, 2015.
