Political Ha Ha Box: Free Public Art & $1 Lemonade | Mission Dist.

A young SF resident, 12-year-old Alejandro Merritt has created a piece of interactive, political and comical public art with his 8 year old brother Cameron. The project is inspired by the June 7 Primary Election in California and is is a political Fun Box created from an old trunk with a surprise inside that is very funny.

How does it work? You pull back a curtain and look inside and . . . most everyone has a big laugh. The Ha Ha Box is located on 20th Street near Dolores Park where Alejandro lives with his brother, my mother, and father.

Here is what Alejandro has to say:

I hope you will drop by soon and see for yourself. You’ll love it. We’ve been showing it on the sidewalk for a little over a month. I won’t tell you what, or who, is in the box. Maybe you can guess who is the butt of the joke.

The Ha Ha Box will be on view this weekend and next during hours below. In case you are thirsty, we’ll be selling lemonade, too, for a $1 glass.

Saturdays and Sundays until Election Day
