If you’ve got a car in San Francisco, in addition to crazy high gas prices, you also have to worry about the insanely complex, nearly impossible to decipher conflicting parking signs and rules.
Thankfully on Presidents’ Day, the city of San Francisco is going to reward you with a ticket-free day of parking – sort of.
Presidents’ Day Parking Rules Overview
Monday, February 17, 2020
City of San Francisco
- Parking Meters: Enforced City Wide – Like all days, you are allowed to park at a broken meter, but the posted time limit still applies. The only holidays where parking meters aren’t enforced is Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
- Residential Parking Permits: Not Enforced
- General Parking Time Limits: Not Enforced
- M-F Weekday Daytime Street Sweeping: Not Enforced (warning… some streets with 7-day street sweeping – like Market Street – will still be enforced)
- Nighttime Street Sweeping Towing: Enforced City Wide
- Commuter Shuttle Towaway Zone: Not Enforced
- Unmetered Yellow / White / Green Zones: Not Enforced
Please note:
– Hazards are always subject to tickets and towing
– Posted 1-2 hour parking time limit areas and daily Seven-Day-a-Week Street Sweeping (such as Market Street) will be enforced
– Meter customers are advised to check parking meters to verify enforcement time limits and amounts
– Blue Zone (Handicap) are always enforced
– Parking on SF Port Property (Fisherman’s Wharf, along the Embarcadero and a few other areas) may have different parking rules.
