Presidio Free Programs: Talks, Music & Performances | SF

San Francisco’s tradition of diverse cultural expression started at the Presidio, and continues today with events that enlighten, engage, and entertain, taking place at the Presidio Officers’ Club.

Enjoy topical discussions, live music, dance, and interactive family activities, all free to the public and sponsored by the Presidio Trust, in partnership with cultural institutions from across the Bay Area.

Beethoven sonatas, transcribed vocal works by Poulenc, the kinetic counterpoint of Schnittke – there’s no telling what musical world you’ll find yourself in when cello/piano duo Martha & Monica take the stage.

Free, but an RSVP is required.

Since 2006 the cello/piano duo has consistently delighted Bay Area audiences with innovative programs and imaginative pairings of contemporary works and beloved masterpieces. Their repertoire includes the great sonatas by Beethoven, Brahms, and Schubert, significant twentieth-century works, and transcriptions of vocal music as well as an ever-increasing body of contemporary compositions and newly commissioned works.

The duo has been presented regularly at San Francisco’s Old First Concerts, on Berkeley Chamber Performances, Trinity Chamber Concerts, sfSoundSeries, the El Dorado Community Music Series, the Falkirk Mansion, and the Berkeley Piano Club.
