Sabor Dance Party: Salsa, Merengue & Cha Cha Cha | Berkeley
Berkeley’s La Peña Cultural Center invites you to a free Salsa, Cumbia, Cha Cha Cha dance party every Friday from 9-11 pm. The preceding lesson is from 8-9 pm and costs $5-$12.
Free dance party from 9-11 pm, but an RSVP is required.
In La Pena’s Lounge space DJ José Ruíz aka MundoMuzik, is a DJ, radio host, promoter, and collector of world music, vinyl, art and all cultural and music ephemera. Jazz Baptiste, La Pena’s resident Salsa/Bachata dance instructor combines forces with MundoMuzik to create a night of dance lessons and a dance floor to practice them on.
Schedule
- 7 pm: Come in, relax, have dinner or just enjoy DJ MundoMuzik’s spinning.
- 8-9 pm: Salsa/Merenge/Cha Cha Cha lessons with Jazz Baptiste ($5-12)
- 9-11 pm: Free Dance Party. Open to one and all & a great chance to practice your new skills.
