The de Young Museum hosts a yearlong series celebrating Street Art San Francisco: Mission Muralismo, a 2009 book celebrating street art in the Mission District. Tonight features a Mission Muralismo Film Series with rare and cutting edge, old-school and new-school Mission filmmaking shadowing and illuminating Mission art and life. Q&A will follow the screening, with filmmakers and the Mission Muralismo artists and community.
- Francisco Herrera will open the evening with a classic Mission street song.
- Live performances by Gaucho, a gypsy jazz sextet
- Soundscape by KUSF’s DJ Schmeejay
- Holistic Henna will be providing intuitive tarot, palm readings, and henna
