Reclaiming Cinco de Mayo is held to counter the consumer-driven culture being built around the Battle of Puebla, especially during a time of heightened displacement and mass incarceration. This year they works to close youth prisons and build youth leaders in the Fruitvale District of Oakland. Also, to close out the Week of Love, Rage and Resistance with an outdoor concert, resource tables, vendors, and artistic activities for All Ages.

Your family, a blanket and full picnic basket, donations for goodies that may catch your eye, comfortable clothing for morning yoga or Zumba, and your dancing shoes.
