Resistance and Rebel Voices from ‘Down Under’ | Tenderloin
New Valencia Hall | 625 Larkin St, Ste 202, San Francisco, CA 94109 No Comment
Long-time activist and feminist poet Nellie Wong reports back on her recent five-week trip to Melbourne, Australia. Highlights of Wong’s eye-witness report include protests against war in Afghanistan, Iraq and Gaza, and Indigenous, immigrant, and feminist organizing and the exciting rebellious voices of poets and artists. The former, oppressive White Australia Policy that excluded people of color from the country’s shores informs the presentation.
Jointly sponsored by Freedom Socialist Party and Radical Women. Everyone welcome. For more information or childcare, contact 415-864-1278 or bafsp@earthlink.net.
