Return of the Cypher (ROTC) is free live Hip-Hop show every Sunday at the Boom Boom Room that features an ever-changing lineup of artists and improvised sessions (know as “cyphers”) where beatboxers, emcees, and musicians collaborate in a spontaneous combustion of soulful skill.

ON HIATUS: “Return of the Cypher” Hip-Hop & Beatbox Jam | Boom Boom Room

The first MVP contest of 2017 is going down this Sunday. Eight contestants trade bars in a competitive cypher.

Each match, the best emcee is selected by a panel of judges and awarded a point. The two artists with the most points after two rounds go head to head in final match for the title of MVP of the Month, and will be awarded the honorable ROTC dog tags. MVPs of the month are then eligible for the MVP of the year contest held in December.
