Event Details

San Francisco Park Volunteer Day | Pacific Heights

Join the Alta Plaza Park Volunteers for their quarterly park beautification workday. Volunteers weed, trim walks, apply ground cover, plant, collect trash and overall spruce up this “jewel in the crown” of the San Francisco park system.

Alta Plaza lays claim to a unique role in San Francisco ‘s history. It operated as a rock quarry until 1877 when the City purchased the 12-acre parcel for park development.

The organizers will provide you with a nice free continental breakfast, thanks to Noah’s Bagels, Trader Joes and Peets, and in return volunteers get to play in the dirt with S.F. Rec and Park gardeners

Bring comfortable, protective clothing, sturdy footwear, hat and sun block or rain gear, as necessary.
