Saturday Write Fever: Insta-Plays Written & Performed | SF

Every second Saturday of the month, EXIT Theatre invites writers, actors, directors, theater creators and theater audiences alike to a free evening of quick script-making and flash-fried performance.

Join in for:

  • 8:30 pm: Mixer
  • 9 pm: Writing sprint where writers have 30 minutes to generate original monologues based around that night’s pre-generated prompts
  • 9:30 pm: Performance of the work on stage in the café for an on-the-spot, one-night-only instant festival

They cast actors from the crowd (no experience necessary), so come join in the communal creativity, either as a writer, performer, or audience member. There’s no need for reservations, though get there early to get your name on the writer list which caps at 16.

Admission to this event is free and the café open and staffed during the event, so you can purchase drinks and snacks all night long.

The Halloween season has begun and you know what that means: Death. Darkness. Dread. Candy. Revel in it all as we bring you a night of writing with prompts sourced from tombstone epitaphs (for real – the dead are super poetic) that have to be fashioned in monologues from various horror movie genres – Teen Slasher to Creature Feature to Gothic Mystery- each selected from The Wheel of Consequences.

Come join in the communal creativity, either as writer, performer, or audience.
