Event Details

A race against time to save a 5,000-year-old city in Afghanistan threatened by a Chinese state-owned copper mine. They are eager to harvest $100 billion dollars worth of copper buried directly beneath the ancient Budhhist city’s ruins. This vital archaeological site, as well as the entire mountain range, will be completely demolished. Follow Afghan archaeologist Qadir Temori as he races to save the site from imminent demolition.
