2013 San Francisco Design Week
San Francisco Design Week takes place from June 21-27, 2013 and is a growing celebration of San Francisco Bay Area design which includes an opening reception, business and design forums, studio tours, exhibitions, lectures, mixers, a closing party, and more.
Most events are free, but some may have admission fees.
San Francisco Design Week opens on June 22, 2013 and while the official opening reception is $10, you can check out these free design exhibits which will be on display all week.
“Innovating with Beauty” Poltrona Frau: 100 years of Italian Leathership.
Cappellini’s Heroes: Explorers of Design Between Imagination and RealityLocation: Italian Cultural Institute (814 Montgomery St)
A two-in-one exhibition displaying Poltrona Frau: A virtual journey across a century of excellence in the creation of luxury furniture and leather craftsmanship and Cappellini’s Heroes: An “ideal assortment” of Cappellini products, featuring design icons from the Eighties until today. The exhibition is presented by Poltrona Frau Group, the high-end Italian furniture firm comprised of Poltrona Frau, Cassina and Cappellini, and more. Poltrona Frau Group strives for excellence and product quality through continuous research and innovation in all phases of the production process, consistently designing products that exude Italian tradition and style.
Opening: Tuesday, June 11, 2013. On view through Friday, July 10, 2013.

In conjunction with San Francisco Design Week, top bay area designers have teamed up with a talented group of design aficionados to present FormFactors; a week long city-wide curation showcasing local design and celebrating the internationally recognized design presence of the San Francisco Bay Area. From highly awarded design studios to envied and renowned international corporations, the City is home to some of the biggest innovators and design driven brands in the world.
FormFactors will be on display throughout the City from June 21-30, 2013.
