Local music fans are gearing up for warm weather and smooth sounds with the arrival of SFJazz Summerfest at the Stanford Shopping Center.

Citizen Rhythm Project – June 28

Formed in 2010 by multi-award winning Bay Area based guitarist Terrence Brewer, Citizen Rhythm is another evolution of fusion. It is the music of Mingus, Monk, Miles and more fused with funk, hard rock, and hip-hop. Citizen Rhythm makes music that has booty-shaking grooves, based in open improvisation that is pure jazz.

The ten-week concert series is hosted by Stanford Shopping Center and produced by SFJAZZ, a leading non-profit jazz organization on the West Coast .
