2014 Urban Peace Movement Summit: Speakers & Performances | Oakland

Join the Urban Peace Movement for their annual youth summit for ages 16-24 at Impact Hub Oakland for speakers, workshops, forums and a cultural showcase at the end including: DetermiNation Hip Hop Artists, Wolf Hawk Jaguar, Mix’d Ingrdnts and Ernest Olmos (Native Anahuaka Music of Mexico and Beyond w/ Gerardo Marin) on Saturday, May 24, 2014.

The goal of the summit is to mobilize over 150 youth to participate in a full day of activities including guest speakers, interactive workshops, media presentations, music performances, cultural activities, healing sessions, free healthy food, community networking and much more.

2014 Schedule

10:30 – 11 am:  Registration / Breakfast 

• Tree of Strength Mural Exercise

11:00 – 11:30 am: Welcome & Opening

• Intertribal Friendship House cultural performance
• Keynote Speaker: Jerry “Big G” Elster

11:30 – 12:30 pm: All-Star Young Leaders Panel

• Rayna Smith – Urban Peace Movement
• Sema’J Wyatt – Black Organizing Project (BOP)
• Dominic Ware – OurWalmart Campaign / Lift Up Oakland Coalition
• Nimrod Cain – People United for a Better Life in Oakland (PUEBLO)
