Event Details

Celebrate the 35th anniversary of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence with a unique guided meditation art walk through the Castro. Experience Sistory with a special opening ritual from the Founding Sisters at 12:45 pm on Saturday, April 19, 2014. The walk launches at 1:11 pm.

To participate, download the meditation soundtrack audio file link below to an mp3 player (right click the link and “save link as”), wear white, don your headphones and gather for ritual in front of 272 Dolores (near 16th). From there, the Sisters will lead the procession through a mile route to four other Castro sites associated with the origins of The Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence including Dolores Park, Hibernia Beach, MCC, and The Pink Triangle Monument.

The walk is conducted in a slow meditative pace. FYI, there is at least one uphill walk in Dolores Park for those with limited mobility. Sisters and Processioneers, if you’re called to wear white, please do. A single file line of people walking together slowly in white looks wonderfully mysterious and invites reflection.

This Sistory procession is produced by Sister Baba Ganesh in collaboration with Honey Soundsystem’s DJ Pee Play and artist Danyol Leon.
