Monday, August 21, 2017, is the date of the Great American Solar Eclipse.  For those along the eclipse path of totality, which stretches from Oregon across the country to South Carolina, the Moon will cover the Sun, and day will briefly turn into night.

The Bay Area will enjoy a partial eclipse, with more than 75% of the Sun covered by the Moon.

Join in at Chabot to witness this rare eclipse opportunity, which begins around 9:00 am and peaks at 10:15 am. The Center will be open from 8:00 am-1:00 pm for viewing outside or see a live feed of the total eclipse in their theaters. Eclipse viewing glasses are available for purchase.

Event is free to the public.
