2014 happenings include a bike swap all day, Ask A Bike Genius bike expert booths, BMX stunts every hour on the hour, the infamous Whiskeydrome (a 30-foot banked wooden velodrome) plus bike races such as:

  • 9 am: Biker Chicks – Free women’s bike ride. Come discover or rediscover your love of cycling. Every ride starts off with a quick lesson that helps women build confidence and skill. Two routes are offered. Choose between a 11 mile cruiser ride and a 25 mile fitness ride. This ride will begin at the giant fish statue at Prince Gateway Park and end at the Bike Expo for lunch.
  • 10 am: Free Annadel Refresher that does a victory loop around Annadel and shoots back to downtown – you can relive the race. It’s 20 miles total. Medium to advanced bike handling, all paces, no drop.
  • 10 am: Free Family-friendly Road Ride from Santa Rosa to Sebastopol and back. Short cut options for kids and anyone who needs to get back and have a beer. 10—20 miles total. Route is flat, all paces welcome, no drop.
  • 1 pm: Pixie Bike Time Trial – Grab your kid’s old bike out of the garage. Individuals race against the clock, but random mass starts will be introduced if the crowd becomes bored or just demands more action.
  • 1 pm: Free KIDical Mass is a fun and safe bike ride for kids and their families to learn about safe cycling. KIDical Mass is designed to educate bike-curious parents about safe bicycling with children, teach kids to ride safely in the city, encourage biking to school, and to increase the visibility of families biking on Sonoma County streets.
  • The Cargo Bike Races has three categories: heavy, bulky, and awkward. Part hilarious relay race, part feat of creativity and strength, this race is quite the crowd-pleaser. No one died last year and they’re going to maintain the same high safety standard in 2014.
