Event Details

The Japanese Tea Garden welcomes local author Katrina Goldsaito and illustrator Julia Kuo for an interactive reading of The Sound of Silence. Featured in Brain Pickings, the Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe and many others, the story tells of a little boy who goes in search of the elusive sound through the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.

Visitors will become a Volunteer Orchestra making the sounds of the city, while Julia makes live illustrations and a koto player like the one from the book plays traditional Japanese music.
