Event Details

Sunday Assembly: Communty Sing & Meetup | Berkeley

Sunday Assembly is a non-religious congregation that celebrates life. They’ve got the best parts of a church – community, singing, and acts of service – without any of the religious dogma.

They typically meet on the third Sunday of the month to sing, think, listen, laugh, and build community together. They feature speakers from the local science and humanities communities, and they typically offer a way to donate to a local organization.

The Sunday Assembly is a godless congregation started in 2012 by two comedians and performers in England. It is a growing global network of people with the motto to “Live Better. Help Often. Wonder More.”

The Smiley Lady | Sunday Assembly: Communty Sing & Meetup | Berkeley

“Smile”, Ruth Kaiser – teacher, artist, mom whose sharing of smiling faces she noticed in everyday objects turned into a journey touching on live better, help often, and yes, even wonder more.

Sunday Assembly EB organizers heard Ruth speak at Sunday Assembly Silicon Valley and asked her to come share her talk for East Bay. She’ll just be back from her Operation Smile trip to the Philippines.
