Sunday Assembly: Communty Sing & Meetup | Berkeley

Sunday Assembly is a non-religious congregation that celebrates life. They’ve got the best parts of a church – community, singing, and acts of service – without any of the religious dogma.

They typically meet on the third Sunday of the month to sing, think, listen, laugh, and build community together. They feature speakers from the local science and humanities communities, and they typically offer a way to donate to a local organization.

The Sunday Assembly is a godless congregation started in 2012 by two comedians and performers in England. It is a growing global network of people with the motto to “Live Better. Help Often. Wonder More.”

This month, the topic is “Building the Fabric of Our Local Community.”
Their speaker will be Brad Johnson. Brad is currently in the process of taking over the Diesel Books in Oakland from its current owners and plans to change the name to East Bay Booksellers. Brad will share his personal story of how from his love reading and then selling books, he came to decide to buy and run a local bookstore.
