Event Details

The South San Francisco Public Library is excited to announce our new sewing lab. In connection with our LibLab MakerSpace we are pleased to share this great new resource that includes five Singer 7258 Stylist Award-Winning 100-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machines, a Brother 400 Embroidery Machine, and a Brother 1034D 4 Thread Serger. In our first class, September 1st, we will start to gain an understanding of our machines and what they do, learn some basic functions and instructions, and make eye pillows that you can take home.

Want to personalize your work with custom embroidery? In our second Textile Tuesdays class, September 8th, participants will watch an embroidery demonstration on our new Brother 400 embroidery machine. Fun and easy to use, the Brother 400 allows the user to both download designs from the internet and access its built-in set of embroidery patterns.

On Tuesdays September 15th and 22nd, we will offer certification and open sewing lab. We will train you on using our machines and award you with a certificate, which will allow you to book time to use our machines on your own.
This free event will take place Tuesdays, September 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd, 11:30 to 2:00 p.m. at South San Francisco Main Library in our auditorium.
