Escape the heat (or give in to the eery fog) with summer chills, Italian style. They will be showing three films from a more disconcerting, though no less accomplished, side of the Italian psyche.

  • Fiorile (1993, 105 min) – August 20, 2014 >RSVP
    While travelling to visit their grandfather, two children are told the story of a family curse that has lasted two hundred years. The children’s grandfather Massimo is the last man to be directly affected by the curse, but will he pass it onto them?
  • Romanzo criminale (2005, 154 min) – August 27, 2014 >RSVP
    Set in the 1970s, it’s the story of three lifelong friends who take control of organized crime in Rome.
  • Girl by the Lake (2007, 95 min) – September 3, 2014 >RSVP
    The body of a young woman is found in a small and quiet town in North Italy. A detective from the nearby main city is called to solve the mystery.
