Trash Mob: Costumed Street Clean-Up Day | SF

This Halloween weekend, enjoy trick-or-treating the world with random, guerilla acts of kindness. Grab your your halloween costume, a pair of gloves and a trash bag, and join other do-gooders in sweeping the streets.

Trash Mob is, yes, a flash mob to pick up trash. Confused? The idea is simple: Do good. Have fun. Inspire others to do the same.

October’s Trash Mob is setting out to collect the discarded wrappers and dropped goodies left behind.

Arrive at Powell Street BART in San Francisco by 1 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2016. Meet by the Trolley turn-around. You will move NE up Powell and finish in Union Square, finishing by 2 pm.

Dress Up Theme: Costumes are optional – and highly encouraged. Join for as long as you want. All ages are welcome.

About Trash Mob:
Trash Mob is inspired by the Leave No Trace ethos of Burning Man, and Umuganda: Rwanda’s monthly community service day. The idea is simple. It’s our home planet, so we should take care of it, even if that means helping Mama Earth out in picking up after our messy brothers and sisters every once in a while. This event started out as an initiative of the Arts Diaspora, a global creative network of arists, pace-setters, dreamers and do-gooders. It has been running as an annual event since 2011, and is now turning into a monthly happening, taking place on Last Saturdays to encourage and empower humans everywhere to be active and aware.
