Pay-What-You-Can Theater at a Classic Car Shop “Waiting for Lefty” | Oakland
The Ubuntu Theater Project re-envisions the American classic Waiting For Lefty by Clifford Odets with performances at Classic Cars West, an Oakland classic car repair shop from September 3-12, 2015.
Tickets are pay-what-you-can at the door, or $15-$35 in advance online. Please note that tickets may sell out and there may not be door seats available, so we recommend buying your ticket in advance.
Odets’s 1935 classic tale of thousands of New York City cab drivers fighting for their rights and echoing the complicated politics surrounding labor unions today. Put some fire in your belly as you celebrate Odets’s fighting words and the cultural memory of what it means to fight for human dignity.
