Event Details

Opening night party for Vim and Vigor, a very urban art show at the Mission: Comics and Arts store featuring a dozen artists with a common thread: most of them live in industrial spaces in Oakland, The Mission or SOMA, a setting that inspires their art. Free drinks will be served, as they do in most of these affairs.

“This group works vigorously, lives creatively,” curator Mary Marxen said, “and finds their way amongst the busyness of the bay area, and are an inspiration to living very alternative & artistic lifestyles.”

Mission: Comics and Arts is first and foremost a comic book store. Its previous exhibit was entitled “Riddler’s Mother,” and featured work by a Chronicle cartoonist. Vin and Vigor shows the following artists: Adam Rosendahl, Greta Aalborg-Volper, Krsta Delosreyes, Nicholas Chan, Carla Fisher Schwartz, Jory Bidart, Mathew Zefeldt, Scott French, Sophie Yanow, Max Hield, Josh Pelletier, Devin Miller, Mary Marxen
