Wastewater Treatment Plant Tour | Bayview

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission invites you to take a free tour of the city’s Wastewater Treatment Plant to find out how your sewer system works.

Free, but an RSVP is required at least two days in advance.

You’ll learn about the history of wastewater treatment in San Francisco, tips on preventing pollution of our bay and ocean, and best of all, you’ll get to go behind the scenes to see how this vital piece of infrastructure works. Visitors must be at least 10 years old to take the tour.

Tours alternate between the Oceanside Plant in the Outer Sunset and the Southeast Plant in Bayview.
