Amoeba Music: Free In-Store Mini Concerts

Amoeba Music regularly welcomes traveling and local artists for in-store performances at their San Francisco and Berkeley locations.

Hear your favorite artists for free often right before they hit the stage elsewhere in the Bay Area.

Join them in welcoming Chai – the four-piece all-girl new wave punk band from Nagoya, Japan – to Amoeba SF for a live set and signing of their new 7″ on Monday, March 27th at 6pm. Also catch them on March 26th at The Independent for Japan Nite 2017.

Unique, eccentric, and very focused on their “NEO – New Excited Onna-Band” sound (”Onna” means girl in Japanese), Chai was formed in 2012 by twins Mana and Kana when they asked their high school friend Yuna and University classmate Yuki to start a band. When you listen to Chai, and watch their shows and music videos, you may be reminded of The Slits, Tom Tom Club, Chicks on Speed, Peaches, M.I.A., CSS, tUnE-yArDs, Hinds, and other DIY spirits of the world of woman-ruled rock and roll.
