Event Details

Celebrate the season and winter solstice at ACR’s Martin Griffin Preserve. Create beautiful arts & crafts, observe winter water birds, and get inspired with nature-based entertainment for families and people of all ages. Enjoy hot tea, coffee, and apple cider and do your holiday shopping at the MGP Bookstore.

Also enjoy the Martin Griffin Preserve’s picnic areas for lunch, hiking opportunities, trained naturalists available to answer questions, and 1,000 acres of redwood forests, fresh water ecosystems, coastal scrub, and mixed evergreen forests.

Come enjoy winter nature crafts and activities:

  • Observe winter water birds at the Clem Miller Overlook with spotting scopes and binoculars.
  • Make a beautiful holiday card made with natural materials.
  • Join Artist and Ranch Guide, Allison Huey, for a guided nature hike focused on field sketching.
  • Learn new tricks and transitions to incorporate into your Hula Hoop flow. Anyone can hoop.
  • Bring winter-themed poems or short stories to share aloud. All visitors are encouraged to bring something to share.
