Join the Center for Sex and Culture the day before World AIDS Day for a multimedia extravaganza in 3 Acts on Sunday, November 30, 2014.

Act 1: Alternative Endings, a new video program commissioned by Visual AIDS for the 25th anniversary of Day With(out) Art features provocative work about the ongoing HIV/AIDS pandemic, focusing on the issues of today.

On December 1st 1989, Visual AIDS organized the first Day With(out) Art—a national day of action and mourning in response to the AIDS crisis. To honor the 25th year of Day With(out) Art, Visual AIDS is working with filmmaker Tom Kalin to commission 7 artists/ collaboratives—Rhys Ernst, Glen Fogel, Lyle Ashton Harris, Derek Jackson, Tom Kalin, My Barbarian, and Julie Tolentino.

Act 2: Show N’ Tell – they will have archive goodies on display for your perusal and gentle handling from CSC’s Buzz Bense Safe Sex Poster collection and their zine library with Buzz and CSC staff members to answer any questions. Highlights on display include Oakland based zine DPN (Diseased Pariah News), the newspaper supplement produced by Buzz “How to Throw a Jack Off Party, hot posters from around the world and CSC’s first publication “Safe Sex Bang.”

Act 3: Locals Read – Featuring Buzz Bense (sex activist, founder of EROS and graphics designer), Patrick Mulcahey (San San Francisco Leathermen’s Discussion Group program director, author and San Francisco Bay Area Leather Alliance “Man of the Year” 2011), Dr. Carol Queen (Executive Director of Center for Sex and Culture, author, and staff sexologist at Good Vibes) and Matthew Simmons Shanti Project, Communications Manager).
