Curator Adam Stoltzman and photographer Thomas McGovern will present photographs illustrating the AIDS epidemic locally and globally. Adam Stoltzman curated the exhibit “A Compassionate Eye: The Work of Victor Arimondi” currently on display in the Hormel Gay and Lesbian Center.
Arimondi (1942-2001) was born in Italy and lived many years in San Francisco, where he became known for his stylish and graceful images of clowns, mannequins, homeless people and those suffering from AIDS. Thomas McGovern is the author of Bearing Witness (to AIDS), which includes 65 duotone photographs from a 10-year project on the world AIDS crisis. His work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, New York and in Europe.
