Event Details

On March 16, 2013, see hundreds of students from across the Bay Area share their research and solutions for sustainable communities at The World Savvy Challenge Bay Area Competition.

The World Savvy Challenge is an academic program that engages middle and high school students in project-based learning and solution seeking around a global theme; the 2013 theme focuses on sustainable communities.

Through the program, students work in teams to explore the theme, identify a topic and problem for further research, and develop potential solutions to their problem at the community, national and international level. Students will also engage in collaborative discussions with peers from other schools about existing strategies for addressing a problem related to the theme. Ultimately, the program empowers students to take informed action to address 21st century challenges locally and globally.

The World Savvy Challenge Bay Area Competition Locations at SFSU:

  • McKenna Theater – Opening and Closing Ceremonies
  • Creative Arts – Student Exhibits
  • Humanities – Student Presentations
