Event Details

Join an art exhibit, yard-sale style, featuring all things temporary and where works will investigate the idea of impermanence, the fleeting, being present and seizing the moment.

Come to Proxy in Hayes Valley and see an ice sculpture of the Transamerica tower slowly melt as the day goes on, buy a limited edition balloon, contribute to a giant painting, listen to a layered soundscape, see fog captured in a jar, interact with artists, hang out at Proxy, and join them in the Suppenküche Biergarten starting at 3 pm for the after-party.

Exhibit hours are from 9 am to 3 pm. All work will be for sale, transactions will be cash-only, and artists will keep 100% of sales made.

This event is brought to you by Rhode Island School of Design Northern California Alumni Club and Envelope Architecture + Design. It will take place at Proxy — a temporary two-block project at the corner of Hayes and Octavia Streets. The former site of an elevated freeway, Proxy hosts a rotating roster of events, retail spaces, art and even food offerings. Operating under the motto “Here for now,” Proxy is an investigation into the potential of impermanence: stressing the importance of presence, heightened engagement, and seizing the moment.
