Get a jump start on celebrating Chinese New Year with a night of lion dancers, martial arts demonstrations, and good fortune at the California Academy of Science’s weekly “Nightlife” event.

Welcome the Year of the Dragon alongside Academy herpetologists, who will discuss dragons around the world (think Komodo, not Puff).

Learn about the significance of the Chinese lunar calendar, watch a master calligrapher at work, and request a special phrase of your own to take home. And, pick up some culinary tips during a Chinese cooking demonstration by Chef Kelly Degala from the Academy Café. Music by Magic Touch.
