Event Details

Bring the noise to inmates in North County Jail for a political block party in Oakland on New Year’s Eve on December 31, 2014.

Meet at Oscar Grant Plaza at 9 pm for a march to North County Jail. Bring banners, friends, and noisemakers.

The march is in solidarity with prisoners and prison rebels across the globe:

Proposal for Prison Noise Demos Across North America on New Year’s Eve:

“We organize noise demonstrations every New Year’s Eve outside the walls of prisons, jails, and immigrant detention centers. Sometimes these are the facilities where specific comrades are held and sometimes these are facilities in which social prisoners and rebels unknown to us have been left to rot. Either way, we use our voices, banners, sound systems, instruments, and fireworks to remind prisoners that they are never alone.”

Be prepared for cold weather, activism (possibly pepper spray), and for details to change at any time.
