2017 Bay Area Classic Contest Schedule

  • 9:00 AM – 12:30: Prelims
  • 12:30 – 1:00 PM: Break / On Stage Demo’s
  • 1:00 – 4:00 PM: Finals, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 1A (in this order)
  • 4:00 – 5:00 PM: Awards
  • 5:00 PM onwards: Hangout and YoYo

The Bay Area Classic is second only to the U.S. National Yo-yo Contest in terms of prestige and competition, though some players actually focus as much emphasis on winning the BAC as Nationals or even the World Yo-Yo Contest.

California has produced some of the greatest modern yo-yo players in the world, and the BAC is the one contest each year they are all guaranteed to attend.

Watch yo-yo expert Yuuki Spencer’s physics-defying tricks as he performs a demonstration at a past event.

Yo-Yo Tricks & Free BBQ | 2017 Bay Area Classic Yo-Yo Contest

Kick it in Japantown Peace Plaza in San Francisco on Sunday, May 25, 2014 to watch, meet and learn from some of the Bay Area’s top yo-yo tricksters.

In past years, the gathering has begun around 1 pm. This is an informal event, so there’s no competition, but when you put a bunch of yo-yo experts together in one place, you’re bound to see trick swapping.

BYOB and BYOYOYO – though there are usually some loaners to spare, if you want to give some tricks a try.

Please Note: Typically Sunday Funday is held in Dolores Park, but in 2014 the park is under construction, so there won’t be a free BBQ in the park.
