2020 Peace Lantern Online Ceremony | Berkeley
Update: Because of the coronavirus / COVID-19 pandemic emergency, the 2020 Peace Lantern Ceremony will be held online.
In Japan and around the world, people will gather in early August to float lanterns in remembrance of the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, all victims of war, and all who have gone before us.
The 2020 Peace Lantern Ceremony to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima (Aug. 6, 1945) and Nagasaki (Aug. 9, 1945) at this Japanese-style peace event will be celebrated online on August 8.
This moving and beautiful tradition provides a chance to reaffirm our commitment to building a better future.
