Submitted by the Event Organizer
City Administrator Carmen Chu and the Office of the County Clerk invite couples to celebrate their love and tie the knot at a special LGBTQ+ Pride celebration at San Francisco City Hall tomorrow, the Friday before the world-famous SF Pride Parade and Celebration. This also marks the return of this special marriage event since 2019.
The Office of the County Clerk played a role in the historic actions our City government has taken to achieve marriage equality for people of all sexual orientations. In 2013, the Office stayed open throughout the weekend to marry couples after the Supreme Court overturned the state’s ban on same-sex marriages. This year, the County Clerk made available extra marriage ceremony appointments on Friday, June 24, 2022. Couples will wed in a festive atmosphere, receive special commemorative Pride marriage licenses, and take pictures at a Pride-themed photo booth.
